And they’re off .....

22nd July sees the Globebusters adventure riding the length of the Americas depart Anchorage. The group is riding north to Prudhoe Bay before turning south for 5 months of overlanding to Tierra del Fuego. A massive ride and a real challenge. In two months I’ll be meeting them in Bogota to ride Stage 3 of their route with them.

Why aren’t you with them all the way then Steve? Well, I’ve ridden most of the US section and Patagonia previously and Mexico and Central America don’t appeal.  But the Andes? Now you’re talking. I loved the mountains in southern Chile and Argentina and have always wanted to see the Inca and other remains in Peru. Doing them with Globebusters expert help seemed a good fit, so I’m cherry picking that section.

Meantime, Sue and I need to get ready. Tomorrow we start our two week shakedown ride to Corsica. A chance to check the kit works, the bike is ready and we are fit for the ride. While we’re about it, we can have a couple of weeks in the sun with friends and reconnoiter the Corsica High Route walking trail for a possible assault next year. More to follow ....
